5 Tools Every Tech Startup Should Be Using

These past 8 months our team at StockMotion has been using dozens of different software products to enhance our development teams' abilities as well as our productivity. We’ve found that some of these tools have been a waste of money, while others have proved to be invaluable in our development efforts. These are the top 5.

Bitbucket:

Our team went through the debate between Bitbucket and Github and which we wanted to use for some time. Ultimately, however, we ended on Bitbucket. Some of the key reasons for this were:

  • Pricing: Bitbucket seemed to be the best overall value for the features we were getting and what we were paying
  • Plugins: The ability to easily hook up our repositories to Jira and other services made the move very appealing
  • Team Management: Bitbucket makes it easy to separate out roles and teams and ensure that each developer has customized permissions across multiple repo’s and projects.
